How dry roofing systems work.
Dry ridge
Ridge tiles are fixed to a ridge batten using clips or screws, with a ventilated roll underneath to seal the gap and let the roof breathe.
Dry verge
Interlocking caps fit over the ends of the tiles at the gable edge, fixed to the battens, replacing the mortar bed.
Fitting to an existing roof
Dry systems can be retrofitted to many existing roofs when the ridge or verge mortar fails, or fitted as part of a re-roof.
Signs your ridge or verge needs attention
Look out for mortar in the garden or gutters, ridge tiles that look uneven or have gaps underneath, and verge tiles with missing mortar at the gable end. After high winds, ridge tiles are one of the first things to come loose.
